Pastor Clarice L. Chambers

Pastor Clarice L. Chambers accepted Christ as her Savior at the early age of eleven. She grew spiritually and was called into the Ministry with a desire to become a Missionary in Africa at the age of 19. She heard the Lord speak within her spirit, saying very definitely, "Go into my vineyard and work, and whatsoever is right, I will pay." Shortly thereafter, she entered Manna Bible Institute and graduated in June 1965.

Her calling ended up being a Missionary in Harrisburg, PA, and she moved from Philadelphia to Harrisburg in 1965. Here she assisted the late Bishop Joseph T. Bowens in what was to become the newly established Antioch Tabernacle U.H.C.A.

She was ordained as an Elder in June 1977. After serving as Youth Leader and holding almost all offices in the Church, as well as, Assistant Pastor, the Lord elevated her to full-time Pastor in 1979. She became the first female to hold the title as Northern District Elder in 1999. In 2004 she was elected to the position of 2nd Vice President of the Northern District Convocation.

A strong proponent of education and of being prepared, Pastor Chambers continued to study and earned a Bachelors Degree in Biblical Studies from Trinity School for the Bible and a Masters Degree in Biblical Theology from the International Bible Institute and Seminary.

Her experiences with the State and Federal Government, and OIC have helped her to be aware of the spiritual and material needs in this world, and has enabled her to be of some assistance in these areas.

She is very active in the community, county, state, and serves on various boards and committees on a national level. She was the first woman of color to become the president of the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, and the first woman of color to become the president of the National School Boards Association.

She is also a former co-host of a gospel program called "The Gospel Cavalcade", as one of the D.J.'s on Sunday mornings.

Pastor Chambers is a forty-one year resident of Harrisburg, PA. She is married to Deacon Albert Chambers, Sr., the mother of two children Albert Jr., and Cheryl; the grandmother of seven, George II, Clarice Jonathan and Pearl Fultz; Albert III, Christina and Gabriele Chambers; and the mother-in-law of George Fultz and Valerie Chambers.

By God's grace, Pastor Chambers will teach, preach, counsel and administer with all dilligence and continued faith in God. Her motto is "Only on life, twill soon be past, only what you do for Christ will last." Her life verse is Romans 8:18 "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time, are not worthy to be compared with the glory, which shall be revealed in us."
